Geophysical‐Petrological Model for Bidirectional Mantle Delamination of the Adria Microplate Beneath the Northern Apennines and Dinarides Orogenic Systems

This study presents a geophysical-geochemical integrated model of the thermochemical structure lithosphere and uppermost mantle along transect from Northern Tyrrhenian Sea to Pannonian Basin, crossing northern Apennines, Adriatic Sea, Dinarides fold-thrust belt. The objectives are image crustal thickness variations characterize different domains. Our results consistent with presence two wedges, resulting rollback Ligurian-Tethys Vardar-NeoTethys oceanic slabs followed by continental delamination eastern western distal margins Adria.
